COVID-19 UPDATE FOR EL SALVADOR AND GRINGO TOURS
Since late in 2021 our president removed all Covid-19 restriction to enter and travel in El Salvador. That said we do ask that all clients have their vaccinations and that they respect the locals here who generally wear masks, keep their distance and take your temperature when entering businesses. We are a little flexible and do work with those who are not vaccinated for Covid-19 but do require knowing in advance so that our drivers, guides and partners can take extra precautions to assure their safety. We also ask that those not vaccinated keep their reasons for not receiving vaccinations to themselves. Those travelers not vaccinated will be required to wear masks at all times while in vehicles as well as inside buildings or in close distance with others.
For those clients flying back to the US it is now fairly easy and inexpensive to get your required antigen test. Nicaragua still requires a full pcr-rt test less than 72 hour old as well as a health and immigration precheck which must be done online prior to arriving at any land borders or when arriving by plane.
In 2019, Gringo Tours is starting working together with other local businesses and is now proud to present a few new tours and touristic services. As pioneers in tourism in El Salvador, Gringo Tours has always recommended local partners who like us provide high quality and personalized tours and services, this when they are services we don't offer or when our guides are booked. Over the years, some of our local partners have developed very specialized and unique tours that only they offer. Now we work together to promote them though our company Gringo Tours where you can book these new tours with us. Working in alliance with our local partners, Gringo Tours can make your arrangements for several other tour options while in Suchitoto as well as other parts of El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala. Independently of whether you book directly or with us, the prices always remain the same.

Shared Shuttles and Private Transfers around Central America
Note: We have tried to keep information on shared shuttles up to date but in 2021 and now 2022 prices, days and departing hours have changed several times. I will post update dates here: Updated on April 6, 2022
As of February 2022 we no longer are recommending or reserving services for shared shuttles as we find that many times they don´t provide the level of service our clients expect. If looking for shared shuttles to or from Antigua, Copan or Leon we reccomend you do your research to see which company provides the service you need. There are currently several Salvadoran companies and soon I am sure the Guatamalan companies that were active before the pandemic will start up again as well. The companies we know are Go Travel El Salvador, Ofinturs and shuttles and Surfos mini mart and shuttles all of which you can find on Facebook. We always recommend you contact you hotel or hostal first as they generally will have the best rate and many times allow payment in cash and not unknown online payment options.
Working with several different local companies Gringo Tours can now easily schedule and reserve your seats on shared shuttles or find those offering private transfers at the best possible cost.
