Birding Copan Ruins and the surrounding area
Copan Ruins and Birding in Honduras
Working with top local guides in Honduras allows Gringo Tours to provide your best possible option if you want to explore the Copan Ruins and or bird in Honduras as an extension of a trip to El Salvador and or Central America.
We work with a good friend and now partner who has over 25 years’ experience as a guide in Mayan sites in Honduras and Guatemala and over 10 years’ experience as one of Honduras best bird guides.
You can decide to fly into and out of El Salvador or fly into either El Salvador or Honduras and fly out of the other making better use of your valuable time while in the region.
If entering and departing from El Salvador, Gringo Tours requires a minimun of two nights and three days in Copan Ruins, this generally allows one full day for birding and exploreing the main Mayan site and two shorter birding outings on the afternoon we arrive and in the morning on the third day before returning to El Salvador.
The drive from San Salvador or Suchitoto to Copan Ruins averages fro 4 to 5.5 hours and require crossing two borders, the first into Guatemala and then into Honduras just some 20 kms from Copan Ruins.
We can also add Guatemala to make the best birding in the Mayan Triangle area all with one company and our allies in the neighboring countries. So once again whether it is only birding or birding combined with local attractions Gringo Tours can help.
We now offer several destinations for biding in both Honduras and Guatemala, always working with the best local guides in each country.
